Project Link

PROJECT LINK is a Not-for-profit organization established in 2005 in Latham, NY by parents and educators to provide opportunities for training the educational community in both the service provision and understanding of children with severe developmental delays in language. Although this organization is specifically focusing on the early years of birth to five, it will also work towards partnering in training for the school aged community in order to provide more effective transitions for children as they grow within our educational system. PROJECT LINK hopes to help provide highly effective educational program support to our community that will enable the best possible outcomes for each child’s individual needs. Our primary goal is to close the gap between funding provided through a Free and Appropriate Education and higher quality educational opportunities. To date, these resources have been unavailable to most and it is our hope to be able to provide these to all. Contact Lisa Squadere-Watson at www.projectlinkforkids.org

Watch Me Learn

Watch Me Learn® was founded by Mary Beth Palo, the mother of a child with autism. In 2003, she created a teaching video for her son, Brett, after months of one-on-one therapy failed to produce the progress she’d hoped for. It proved to be a turning point in his road to recovery and requests for her homemade videos prompted her to form an organization, Watch Me Learn. They are focused on creating effective video-based instruction and are the leading provider of video-based social skills teaching for kids with autism, aspergers and other special needs. The teaching is based on principles of ABA/VB and has been tested by classroom educators, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and parents.
